Mills in a sunny chair with a cup of tea before he was allowed to begin his story. "My father built this house, " he began. "At that time there were no other houses on this ridge. It stood in the middle of fields and trees. There was a big tree where the garage is now, and a long garden stretching down the slope. My brothers and I played a lot in that big tree. Our favorite game was pirates. We swarmed up and down its branches like a troop of monkeys, pretending we were reefing sails and climbing up the rigging.

I'm tired of being a witch. " "Really, I can't think what I'd do without her," said Teddy's mother. "She is such a help to me. " The witch looked pleased. Teddy thought for a while. " he asked, at last. " The people in the valley had just gotten over the shock of finding their pigs, hens, and cows had come back to them, when they were surprised to see Teddy on a broomstick and wearing a high steeple hat, flying overhead. " they said to each other. " The broomstick were laughing. But Teddy pointed upward, and it flew higher and higher, like a little bird trying to reach the sun.

Horatio Mills. " said Monty. " said Mr. Horatio Mills. His voice sounded quite firm and brisk across right all at once. " "You'd better not," said Monty sadly. It took twenty minutes for Mr. Horatio Mills to arrive. He drove up in an old car, very clean and shining. Mr. Horatio Mills was rather like his car very old, but very spruce and well cared for.
